\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>In collaboration with <\/span>Motovila<\/span>, <\/span>Centre for the Promotion of Cooperation in the Cultural and Creative Sectors, and Ecologists Without Borders.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Cultural and creative sectors can contribute to today\u2019s environmental and climate efforts by setting an example. But what, specifically, should cultural organisations do to make their events greener?\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event for representatives of cultural and tourist organisations and local communities aiming to shift towards more sustainable practices, will start with a presentation, by Motovila (CED Slovenia), of the efforts undertaken by the EU\u2019s Creative Europe to help deliver the European Green Deal. Together with Katharina Riedler<\/strong> of Crossing Europe<\/strong>, using this festival as a good practice example, they will illustrate how each cultural organisation can support sustainable development by implementing simple solutions. In part II, the president of <\/span>Ecologists Without Borders<\/span><\/i>, Katja Sre\u0161, will use the example of Kino Otok to walk us through specific waste prevention and sorting measures, while highlighting the importance of making this a three-way collaboration between event organisers, participants, and local communities as decision-makers. The event will wrap up with a discussion, chaired by CED Austria and CED Slovenia, on how to make your cultural organisation greener.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At their meeting, AKMS members will highlight examples of good practice from the association of 27 cinemas (the new Ptuj City Cinema venue, the \u2018Culture Day\u2019 film education concept designed by the Dom\u017eale City Cinema, etc.), and analyse the 2021 statistics and the implications of what was another challenging year for business.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Masterclass and Q&A for film writers, directors, and producers <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

In practical terms, the development of a project starts when the decision is made to dedicate time, skills, and money to one project in particular, but in a broader sense, development is a perpetual activity for anyone who wants to write, direct, or produce. Isabelle Fauvel\u2019s masterclass will focus on project development at any stage of writing, as well as skills, talents, and networks, tackling all the specifics of development and co-development.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After gaining experience as a producer, <\/span>Isabelle Fauvel<\/span><\/b> created Initiative Film in 1993: the first company dedicated to film development. Since then, she has been a privileged partner of writers, directors and producers for all matters related to project and talent development, such as talent and book scouting, script consultancy, story editing and giving insightful advice throughout the project gestation.<\/span> She works as an expert or tutor for international industry organisations and events such as the MFI (Mediterranean Film Institute), ACE Producers, and TFL (Torino Film Lab), which includes creating training programs on-demand. She also ventures into the world of publishing, facilitating book adaptations with Shoot the Book!, the crime novel festival Quais du Polar in Lyon etc. Initiative Film has been scouting for Jerusalem International Film Lab since its creation 2012. Fauvel strives to contribute to the circulation of ideas and talents and to enrich the field of film development.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A two-day workshop for feature film producers with one or more projects in development, focusing on the following: how to analyse your line-up of projects; the producer\u2019s tasks and how to deal with talents; how to make your projects visible in the market in order to attract minority or majority partners for co-development; how to find the right reader, the right consultant or story editor during the writing process.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Short Scene’ is a<\/span>n<\/span> intensive <\/span>6-month workshop <\/span>to learn about the theory and practice of screenwriting, develop <\/span>one\u2019s<\/span> idea, and write a screenplay for a short film. Now in its seventh edition, the workshop <\/span>is under way on platforms including Kino Otok in an upgraded, updated format. Andra\u017e Jeri\u010d<\/span><\/b> is one of the founding members of Temporama Film Society (2013). After a series of short (low- or no-budget) films, music videos and an online TV series, he produced Temporama’s first feature <\/span>Consequences<\/span><\/i> (2018), which premiered at Toronto IFF. Jeri\u010d is a member of EFA and was the Slovenian representative of the Producers on the Move programme in Cannes in 2021.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a creative producer and head of development, he likes to get involved in (short) film development in the earliest stages of writing and outlining. In his presentation, he will focus on these early processes in project development, as well as talk about short film funding in Slovenia and how not to lose hope as a filmmaker or producer in the increasingly challenging short film landscape.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Katja Lenar\u010di\u010d<\/span><\/b> started her career in a Berlin-based <\/span>world sales agency. In 2015, she joined EnaBanda, where she produced award-winning shorts and documentaries that premiered in competition programmes of prestigious festivals, such as <\/span>Sarajevo FF, Clermont-Ferrand ISFF, and Thessaloniki IFF. Since 2020, Lenar\u010di\u010d has worked as a producer at Vertigo, and the coordinator of CEE Animation Workshop. <\/span>She is an alumna of Locarno Industry Academy, Jihlava Emerging Producers, and EAVE.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Using the example of <\/span>The Flood<\/span><\/i>, a short film by Kristijan Kranj\u010dan whose highly successful international tour can be traced back to Short Scene, Lenar\u010di\u010d will demonstrate how and why filmmakers can benefit from workshops, co-production forums, and film markets.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Marina Gumzi <\/span><\/b>is the managing director of the micro studio NOSOROGI (2013). As an author, dramaturge and producer, she likes to work with young filmmakers. She was a member of the first study group of the DFFB\u2019s Next Wave (2019-2020), which focuses on innovative forms of film distribution and the potential of new technologies in film development. Gumzi has been part of the international research team behind an Eurimages study on non-conventional film practices, and the Berlin Critic\u2019s Week project group that conceived a utopian system of film production.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her presentation <\/span>Done with Cannes<\/span><\/i> will discuss the possibilities of working on the sidelines of the dominant support systems and their often outdated conventions; the urgency of radically rejecting the instant, calculating modes of production, and the meaning of seeking \u201ctruth\u201d through curiosity and research.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
